What type of machine is going to be operated on the converter. Be specific, a compressor, fan, lathe, air conditioner, laser, etc.? Does the load consist of a motor, a heater or a rectifier (power supply)?

Single speed AC motors are fairly easy loads to handle. Heater and rectifier loads are more demanding. Computer controlled machine tools and motors which run on variable frequency drives should be reviewed by Kay Industries before selecting a converter.
